About Me

My photo
J Hetherington Pottery
Nature and texture often inspire my work in clay. I love the earth tones. It makes me happy when someone wants to pick up a piece of my work and run their hands over it. I build pieces from hand and also on the pottery wheel. And sometimes I mix the two methods. All of my pieces are food safe (unless otherwise noted), oven safe, and dishwasher safe. However, I do recommend hand washing to prevent chipping that can occur in the dishwasher as pieces knock together. My journey into pottery started when my husband gave me pottery lessons for my birthday one year. Those 6 weeks have turned into a 7 year adventure, which I hope continues for much longer! I have since trained in North Carolina and California, and spent many hours on the internet and browsing magazines to learn everything I can. It truly brings joy to my life. I am proud that I have held 4 very successful pottery shows with all proceeds going toward a favorite charity (www.prisms.org.) I hope you enjoy my pieces. Please give me feedback.
